Beyond The Exam Room: Volume 6

Welcome to Beyond the Exam Room.
This is for people who refuse to outsource their health to rushed visits, reference ranges, or systems built for convenience instead of outcomes. Here, we interpret signals, expose what’s been normalized, and build health deliberately. We do this with clarity, strategy, and personal responsibility.
Why We Don’t Accept Insurance (And Why That’s Good for You)

There is a third person in the room during your doctor's appointment.
You can't see them, but they are calling the shots.
The insurance claims adjuster.
They decide how much time the doctor can spend with you (usually 7-12 minutes).
They decide which labs are "medically necessary" (usually the bare minimum).
They decide which treatments are approved (usually the cheapest generic option).
Your doctor might want to dig deeper. They might want to run a full thyroid panel or check for advanced cardiac markers.
But if the insurance company says no, the answer is no.
That is why I opted out.
I cannot serve two masters.
I cannot optimize your longevity while simultaneously optimizing an insurance company's profit margin.
By removing the middleman, we change the incentives.
I work for you.
If you need an hour to discuss your metabolic health, we take an hour.
If we need to run advanced functional testing to find the root cause, we run it.
If we need to design a protocol that includes nutrition, lifestyle, and targeted supplementation, we do it.
It turns out, healthcare is much more effective when the provider is actually allowed to care for the health of the patient.
We call it concierge medicine.
But really, it’s just medicine the way it was supposed to be.
Personal. Thorough. Uncompromised.
If you are tired of the insurance game dictating your health, let’s talk.
